Did you know? Saloom uses catalyzed conversion varnish on all their pieces. Harder to work with for the furniture maker, conversion varnish is considered superior to catalyzed lacquer finishes. Saloom applies it evenly to table tops and undersides so the piece is "balanced" when exposed to the changes of humidity and temperature in the home environment.

Great care and craftsmanship goes into the making of Saloom dining pieces. Starting with the best woods and expertly and meticulously assembling every part and babying the product every step of the way.

Chairs are assembled with mortise and tenon joints, glued and painstakingly positioned by skillful hands and mallet. There are no screws or nails to weaken or loosen. Frame is then placed in a special jig where hydraulic press drives the pieces solidly together. Then, the frame is carefully remeasured by hand to assure proper dimensions and squareness.
